what do you tell someone instead of good morning when you're not having a good morning. and when you dont say anything, they get all bitchy about it.

A quick "Hi". If they try to get you to talk about why you are not having a good day, tell them "I just need some space. I hope you understand." This way you were not rude (you still greeted them), you explained you needed space, asked (nicely) for them to honor that...if they get "bitchy" or don't respect you for it, that is their problem. Everyone needs space sometimes. I hope your day gets better.

Just say: Today is not my day for some reason!

And, try to remember that you woke up this morning, you can walk, you can talk, you can see....and try to think of all those who can't. It can always be worse.
