I apoligize if I offend anyone, that is not my intention, but I must know. I have seen some people from time to time that appear to be of middle eastern decent, and some of these people have what appears to be jewelry placed on their forheads. What does this signify...and how do they get it to stay in place without falling off?

actually I do admit ignorance on this subject. So to answer some of your stupid responses...no, I don't know that these dots are worn by particular groups, Indians, Muslims, Middle Eastern? I have NO CLUE......That's why I asked.....duh!

Red Dot which u have mentioned is called- "Bindi" or "Body dots". It is perfect indian ways to express ones' individuality. They are set in eye-catching designs for the fashion conscious youth as well as women.

like how we wear wedding rings and stuff, other cultures have other means of showing who is unmarried and married.

like any body art, there are glues made for the skin. many types of animal fat can be used for such glues.
