I have been thinking about getting an ipod for quite awhile, but i don't know a whole lot about them. I think I will get a video ipod but I need more information first. I already know that they play songs, music videos, movies, television shows, and hold pictures. Does it do anything else? How breakable are video ipods? I don't want to be buying something that accidentally falls off a table and breaks! What does 30GB mean? How much stuff does that hold? Also, I heard rumors of a purple video ipod and since I love the color purple I was very excited. I got online to look for it and have yet to find it. Does it really exist or is it made up? Thank you so much for your help!

You can also play games on the iPod, you can also use it to hold your contacts (as in phone/address book). They can break should they fall, but they can easily be put back together with no internal damage. Buying a case for the iPod and keeping it in it's case helps to prevent it from breaking should it fall. GB (gigabytes) refers to the amount of storage that the iPod has. A 30 GB Video can hold about 7,500 songs (if you just do songs). I'm fairly certain that they are not making a purple iPod. The only models that have been made in colors other than black or white are the now discontinued Mini and the Nano. Right now, a purple iPod video does not exist. It hasn't been confirmed that they will make more colors, but I wouldn't doubt that they would decide to make it with more colors.

Anyway,

The iPod video is a very good investment. 250 dollars for a machine that plays music, videos, tv shows, and pictures is a great deal. It has great customer support, and Itunes is very easy to operate and download music from. It also has support for games, which you can buy from Itunes.

If you are worried about dropping it, you can buy a plastic hard case which will assure that the Ipod will not be damaged. I use a hard case on my iPod video and I am very clumsy with it, the only thing that scratches is the hard case, and keeps the iPod from breaking, and getting scratches on the screen.

Overall, if you have the money, you will be making a good decision.

the nano is smaller and, as you referred to, very beautiful. it is likewise flash based, that could make it somewhat greater good as there is not any annoying rigidity to placed on out (no shifting factors). even however, merely as in the older ipod mini, you pay so lots greater $ in step with gb; even if the video function isn't all that sensible, you will spend much less time futzing with your library (instruction manual updates, etc) with the better skill of the 30 gig. How super is your library?... considering that greater 24 gig is ineffective in case you dont want it. I easily have 60gb video, yet i gotta enable you to recognize- the belief of "carrying around your dvd library" and connecting it to a larger visual show unit is crap, mostly because of the fact the low res ipod video format feels like crap while seen on a "typical" length show screen. p.s there's a 6gb nano in the works, if no longer already on the marketplace; it extremely relies upon on what you desire to do with it, and for the money i think of the 30gb video is a greater effective value (even if larger and heavier).
