You need to go to your doc. for a check-up. The burning could be a Urinary Tract Infection but you need a test to be sure.
You could also have a cut on the outside of your body.
You can take a look & see what's going on.

There are several different possibilities.
1) as many people have pointed out cystitis is a possibility! that is a bladder infection and is most frequently caused because of a bacteria migrating up the short urethra. Signs/symptoms include increased urinary frequency, dysuria (burning or pain), a feeling of incomplete emptying and a change in odor or color of the urine.
2) an inflammatory reaction to something such as a tampon or napkin. Some feminine products use deodorants and /or the materials used in making the tampon or napkin can cause an allergic-type reaction. Latex allergies (to condoms) can also cause this
3) loss of the epithelium secondary to trauma such as a rubbing of the tampon or napkin (or sex or masturbation) around the urethral opening causing a small raw place that burns when touched or even comes in contact with acidic urine and vaginal secretions
4) vaginitis, such as a yeast infection or even an STD, less likely; but since I don't know you I can't say
5) there are some other rarer causes, but I don't think this is the place for those and so I will stop there
If it is Cystitis, then you probably need a doctor visit to check your urine for bacturia and a culture
if it is inflammatory, you should stop using all of the brands of tampon, latex, soap, toilet paper and laundry detergent that you are using until you evaluate if there has been a change in any of the brands recently, Corticosteroids may help, but the area is only safe for certain ones and you will need a professional's advice there also
if it is traumatic it will be self-limited if you just let the area heal
Vaginitis or STD's will require an evaluation as well,
So your best bet is to see a doctor or leave it alone. If it gets worse, then see a doctor

You appear to be having some kind of urinary tract infection or a reaction to tampons (if that is what you're using). A quick test based on a urine sample, taken at the doctor's office, will help him/her prescribe the right antibiotics for you.

you probably developed a bladder infection. It isnt caused from your period but sometimes it happens after a period. I would go get some antibiotics from the dr. and take them when this happens. also try to drink lots of water and cranberry juice or buy some cranberry pills. they work great.

Well, I don't really know what is wrong, but you should probably talk to a doctor just to be sure it's nothing serious.
