You have to know that you have a problem before you can fix it. Most people do not realize that they are a problem, so they simply wish for the circumstances to be easier. So they then try to make the circumstances easier by themselves. Lying, cheating, stealing, murdering, these are all ways to make things easier all the while making the person worse not better. If you don't know that there is a problem and then spend your time making things worse, you do not have any time or knowledge to make yourself better or to even know where to begin. People are so busy blaming other people for their problems and making others the reason that they can not make themselves better that they don't ever realize that there is more than one way to get things done. They simply want the easy way and when that door is closed, it's done they never even think to rise above and try another route. These people, well I think we can look around and see who these people are. Another reason why parents shouldn't spoil their kids, they not only hurt the child but the whole society in the end.

Humans are lazy by nature. Some of us show it more than the others. We want things to be easier. It is easier to complain about the life than to look into ourselves, find the problems within, and make within better. These actions present too much work. No one wants to give up habits or admit something is wrong with them.

We've evolved that way because making oneself better entails taking risks that can put an end to the ability to reproduce.

The premise is incomplete, because it doesn't hold true for all people or for all of one person's life, or for all contexts with the same person. Usually, there are a few things for which we are willing to take the trouble to make ourselves better -- so that's how we set our priorities.

Maybe you are looking at the wrong answer. Better is sometimes easier than we realize. A choice is an easy answer away.

No one wants to be responsible for his/her own siuation. It's so much easier to place the blame on a higher power.
