The New England region of the U.S., which are the states of Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont. There is almost every kind of environment and type of terrain here. There are: the majestic mountains of New Hampshire and Vermont, the Applachian Mountain trail of New England, the beautiful island cultures of Maine and Massachusetts, the lush green valleys of western Massachusetts, the historic pre-colonial and colonial districts of the region, the thousands-of-miles of sandy and/or rocky coastline and/or beaches of the region, the small picturesque American small-town life of northern New Hampshire and central Connecticut, the endless miles of untouched forests of Maine, the unusually random small sandy desert called The Desert of Maine, the cultural Renaissance-like city of Providence, the lavish grand mansions of Newport (in RI), the bustling metro city of Boston, and so much more.

As others have said, the list is endless. But, my favorite place that I have experienced so far has been Utah. There are 9 national parks running from north to south of the state.
I began my trip in the north of Utah, with the snow covered mountains of the Wasatch. Traveling south, it seemed there was something spectacular and different around every bend. From billowing soft meadows of gold and the olive orchards of Dixie National, to the burgundy/red rocks of Zion. The entire trip was ladden with canyons, buttes, mesas and abundant wildlife, until I reached Lake Powell, bordering Utah & Arizona. There I found a myriad of sail boats lofting on the deep blue waters of Lake Powell, from the cliffs above. I had gone from a brisk 30 degrees of the Wasatch to 110 degrees on the arid Lakes.
Most every state has something of beauty to enjoy, but the Western states can really make you feel like a whisper in the wind in this vast country.
To date, Utah has been the most diverse in terrain, flora and fauna, wildlife, and colors I have yet to experience.

There really are great areas in every state. You should visit New England, I've not been to all the states up there, but it is a beautiful part of the nation and rich with history, you should definitely visit Gettysburg, PA. I have visited a few places out west, I really like Yellowstone Park, WY! Also the Badlands in South Dakota are wonderful.

Believe it or not,but the best part of the USA that offers the most beautiful landscapes is in New York.Don't think that I am talking about the City of New York, think more of the upstate region, like in the Catskill region,or in Albany and Saratoga.
