Age old justice is an eye for an eye. An emotional concept. Objective justice is the correct punishment for the crime. I don't believe in many cases there is a correct punishment for a crime. In our politically correct society, many judges let serial offenders go. They can be rehabilitated. That is pure hogwash. Sometimes, I think serial offenders need to be punished by their own deeds. EX: If they rape and kill, should be done to them. Subjective punishment. Objective punishment, incarseration for life. But, taxpayer expense. I'm for subjective.

Maybe the logical math of game theory? I mean, there is theoretically a way to maximize fairness, IF the value of acts and of actors/victims is specified. Without a framework of someone's opinion about who and what matters, though, the answer to your question is no.

We usually take for granted that all humans are equal. But justice is about evening out harm, and how much a given act harms a person is up for grabs, because suffering is inherently subjective.

In theory the answer is the law in my opinion.

The law is an attempt to codify justice. Its an attempt to make objective something that is inherently subjective. It fails often, but works well enough to keep civilization going for as long as it has
