I think you should diversify any investments you make. There is no reason to put all available money in one stock, ever.

Well...a stock definitely CAN double within 3-5 years--OR it can lose half it's value or more, which is why you should never put all of your eggs in one basket. Diversify into several stocks from different sectors/categories in order to reduce risk. If you pick well (and that's a big "if"), you can still end up with a nice return.

You shouldn't invest most of your money in any one stock. Besides, Doubling a stock price in 3-5 years requires an average annual rate of return between 14 and 24%. Not gonna happen.

Diversify according to your objectives and risk tolerance, dollar cost average (buy shares gradually rather than dumping in large amounts), and rebalance once to twice a year.

Better yet, see a financial advisor or planner.

Addendum: With respect to LongArm, I did not mean to suggest that a stock couldn't double in the time frame suggested; just that that is extremely optimistic. And as we've seen in recent years, when dramatic rises occur, there is often an abrupt market correction in the other direction.

NEVER put all your money in any one stock.

You're only asking to lose your shirt.

What if there's a scandal involving the executives? Flush goes your savings.
