What's the story behind Gene Wilder playing congas on the Talking Heads album "Fear Of Music" (1979)?

Supposedly he plays congas on "I Zimbra" and "Life During Wartime".

What's the story here?Was he friends with the band or Brian Eno? Was Gene a regular at CBGB's?

Yes it is true and he was most likely freinds with David Byrne.

It's A Gene Wilder, but it's not the recently deceased actor. Byrne saw the two playing in Washington Square Park on the way to the studio. Same name, different person. Byrne used to get asked this all the time and has explained it.
