Also, I'm looking for a place that will allow me to bring in or mail a sample of the water, and not for anyone to come out.

I recently moved into a place where the water looks and tastes fine, but has an odor. Also, I've had hair loss and skin irritation since using the showers here. So I'm wondering if the water is the cause.

Hi,
Any place that sells water softeners, or water treatment products can sample your water.
If you are uncomfortable about them coming out to your residence, take a sample of water in the "cleanest" small jar you can, to them.
They will test it for pH, and so forth.
If you need water tested for health reasons, just give a quick call to your local county office, they will advise you what to do next, and the cost involved.
Hope this helps,
Dave

Yes there are, expect the cost to be about $15.00 a sample depending on what your looking for. Also some places sell kits you can do you self for less that look for Lead and such. Just look on Google for them.
