(If the American people were voting for lobbyists as well as politicans then the US would still be a Democracy but that is not the case).

Bad things only happen when good men do nothing. It's the voters' fault for not taking their leaders to task.

The US has never been a democracy. If you would like it to be, then we would need a new constitution.

Our nation was founded as a constitutionally limited republic, as any grammar school child knew just a few decades ago (remember the Pledge of Allegiance: "and to the Republic for which it stands"...?). The Founding Fathers were concerned with liberty, not democracy. In fact, the word democracy does not appear in the Declaration of Independence or the Constitution. On the contrary, Article IV, section 4 of the Constitution is quite clear: "The United States shall guarantee to every state in this Union a Republican Form of Government (emphasis added). The emphasis on democracy in our modern political discourse has no historical or constitutional basis.

Of course it can still be a democracy. The lobbyists have influence over policy making, but they don't control it. Policy is determined by the legislature, which is composed of elected politicians...not lobbyists.

While Americans don't vote for lobbyists, we do support them in other ways. If you are a member of any special interest groups, like NARAL or the NRA, your dues are supporting lobbyists who are advancing the causes you believe in. Special interests groups, and their lobbyists, give people with common interests a stronger voice in government than they would have as individual voters.

Its called voting for a 3rd party then the corporations and lobbiest are splitting their cash 3 ways. Bankrupt them.
Other considerations should be checking voting records if your elected guy doesnt vote as he should dont reelect him or anyone hes affiliated with.
