what is creative play?

for my univeristy course I have been given a breif that asks me to create a toy which encourages "creative play". What do you see as being creative play, bearing in mind the toy is supposed to be for children aged between 3-8.

Creative play just means it allows them to use their imagination. If you look up creative play in your school library, there should be a fair number of books on how to encourage creative play in children. If there is an education library at your school, they would most likely be found there.
