I am trying to think of a film from the 80's it was about a man and women who buy a old house to do it up. A comedy and there is a bit where the bath falls few the floor i think it has Michael Keaton in it but not sure

The money Pit is the right answer as everyone keeps saying.
But, as a bit of extra info, I think you're getting your films a bit muddled. The film you're thinking of with michael Keaton is probably Pacific Heights. It also stars Matthew Modine and Melanie Griffiths. It's not a comedy at all but Michael Keaton moves in with a couple who are doing up a house as a creepy lodger.

It sounds like the money pit to me. That had Tom Hanks in it and was a remake of film with Jimmy Stewert in it from way back. It was a funny film, but if you're on renovating a house like have been doing for months it's probably not something you'd be keen to watch in a hurry!
