Well, don't forget self censorship when people believe they will be threatened or punished if they write something.
Government censorship is normally published rules about what can be published (such as royalty laws in England), but it can also mean, usually at the lower levels of govenment, what can be found in government run operations such as libraries (banning some books or videos or internet connections), schools (same) and cable systems (owned or licensed by cities).
Commercial censorship involves businesses and what their employees are allowed to say or do, either in the name of the company or as any part of their life.

Organized religion is nothing but a political body, exercising power over people by using fear and guilt to keep them in line, and contributing money to "the church", for the sake of the church. This is why there are so many different religions that call themselves Christian, and why they each claim to be "the one true religion" - because they need the followers. Worse still, all religions disagree with the Bible they all claim to follow. Of course there are different Bibles as well, again by the direction of The Church. Thing is, the Bible - especially the teachings of Jesus - are pretty anti-church and religion. Why is it preachers yell and scream about the importance of going to church to pray when Jesus says the only requirement to pray is to find a quiet, secluded place. So, which is it? Then there's the way that religion feels it must rule all peoples' lives - whether they're members or not. While the Bible says nothing against birth control, The Church would have us believe that it's a sin. Well, of course it is! Sex with birth control means no babies to increase the church's power and revenue base! Same thing goes for abortion and same sex marriage. And why is it that the Bible holds hope and salvation for all who come to it, yet the Church seems to take a perverse pleasure in telling everyone they MUST belong, then precedes to explain in painstaking detail why they're going to go to hell anyways. Masturbate? You're going to hell. Left handed? Only the devil uses his left hand! Gay? Hell, hell, hell. Tell me, why would God intentionally create people with these flaws, then force them to go to church so men in robes can stand there every Sunday and explain why they're going to go to hell, no matter what they do. Then in the next moment, explains that Jesus loves everyone. What sort of messed up mixed message does that send?
