Depending on your operating system and the specific problem the Hammer size may vary. I personally prefer a two pound sledge with a 24" handle. Be sure to wear safety goggles since some of the more difficult issues may counter attack by launching shrapnel when struck.
In order to assure that the problem never returns my experience says 10 'Swing for the Fence' licks are a minimum. I've never had a problem return using this technique.
Good Luck

If you want the ease and security and stability of a Mac, but, you only own a PC, then you should run a LiveCDrom that includes 1900 Free games and programs, like on the Mac.
It boots in the CD and runs in a virtual RAM disc.
Also, has forums, for help and answers. http://pclinuxos.com
No more problems caused by Microsoft and the "114,000 Microsoft Virus Definitions"

A hammer won't fix your computer, although it may make you feel better for a little while. :-) Is there a computer tech shop nearby? Maybe you could bring it there for an expert to look at.
Good luck.
