Positive breeds positive. People who are always so positive are enjoyable to be around. They leave lasting impressions where many are concerned. I have learned that most positive people were raised in a positive environment. How lucky for them because I was raised in "pure negativity" but have worked hard to be positive in word & deed.

They are few and far between. When you find one, stick around. Life is the best thing around. Find a good thing everyday and you will become one of the positive people. Guess what, you will become one of the best things people know.

They don't take it personally when you tell them to f*&% off! Ok, I'm kidding. Sort of...

Actually, I'm trying to be more positive. It's difficult because I tend to be negative naturally (I was born that way. My first word was "No!" & it's been downhill ever since!) Some people seem to just naturally see the bright side. Sometimes they can cheer you up other times they just seem annoying & insensitive & make you feel worse.

I know that it's healthier to be positive so I am working on it. My boyfriend is positive. He has been helping me. Sometimes it's hard though because he isn't sympathetic to my negativity. Sometimes I feel angry or sad & I'm not able to switch it off & be happy.

I basically know what I need to do but it's hard to do it...it's easier to give good advice than to take it I suppose. I could help someone else to be more positive but it's harder to deal with the negative voice in my head (a lot of it picked up from my mother, the Queen of Negative Thinking!)

People with positive views are strong & resilient. They can deal with problems & find solutions. They always see the bright side. They greet the day with a smile. They see the glass half full & appreciate all their blessings rather than focusing on flaws or things that they lack. Their laughter, humour, positive attitude & energy can be infectious at times & will make you laugh in spite of yourself sometimes. The disadvantage is that sometimes the "happy act" is hiding real issues that they refuse to deal with. Sometimes they ignore their problems rather than face them. They bury their heads in the sand & act like everything's ok. Sometimes you need to be a little negative -- to be cautious & not let people take advantage of you, to be cognizant of real threats & issues that you need to plan for. To be organized, to be careful. Sometimes carefree can mean careless.

I knew a girl that was always smiling. Even at her mother's funeral. Nothing seemed to get to her. But it did. She tried to stifle her emotions. She developed an ulcer & had other health problems (she was severely overweight). If you deny yourself any negative feelings, that's not healthy. Sometimes you need to feel some grief, some anger. You have to accept your emotions & release them. The key is not to let them overwhelm you. Not to wallow in them (which I do sometimes).

There are things my boyfriend can teach me about being positive. There are things I can teach him about being honest about your emotions & about being careful & organized (the positive side of being a worrier/control freak). Somewhere between the two, between positive & negative, yin & yang, is the perfect balance! We all have something to learn from each other...

They give off positive vibes which we pick up on and feel uplifted being with such people . It's much healthier to look for the bright side of life . If you can't see the bright side , you need to polish the dull side !
