I would say definitely by bus. I'm sure you could get one direct from the airport heading for Marbella. If you are lucky enough to arrive at terminal 1 the bus stop is just on the rt. Have a look at the link above as it has timetables and prices.

The journey from Malaga airport to the city takes about 20 minutes.Taxis line up outside the arrivals hall.At Malaga airport check the destinations and fares sheet posted on the wall to make sure you're not overcharged.
