If your kids are clearing the history each time they use the internet you will not be able to see where they've been. If not and you're using Internet Explorer:
1. Open IE
2. In the Toolbar look for the History button (a rounded arrow)
3. The History will show in a pane on the left
4. To view sites click on them and IE will open the page
If Firefox is the browser:
1. Open Firefox.
2. Show the History sidebar either using the icon or by going to History in the top toolbar.
3. Select Show Sidebar
4. Click on sites to view them same as the above.
Perform these steps as often as you like. Just don't warn the kids so they clear the history. Also, you should think about using a program that will install parental controls. Either one you purchase or at the least learn to use those built into your operating system.

I don't think checking history will verify to you which child was visiting inappropiate sites. I would create an user account for you and one for your children. For the kids user account activate a parental control. If you already have Norton you can activate their parental control. If you are willing to spend some money your best bet is to buy a parental control program. (type in parental control program in any search engine or visit a computer store near you) These programs can block certain users from adult content and some can even monitor you kid's computer from another computer, even at work.
