I'm about to graduate from a university in Canada. I want to take my Education degree at University College Cork. If I get that degree, will I be able to return to Canada and teach with that degree? How much red tape will I need to go through to make it work? I'd be returning to Alberta or BC to work. Thanks for your help!

Yes, I believe so. BC and Ontario are the only provinces with a college of teachers that you have to apply to before being able to teach in those provinces. I would contact the BC College of Teachers, and make sure prior to applying to your education program.

In Ontario we already have teachers whose qualifications are from Eastern Europe, and they were given an official letter to authorize them to teach. Consequently I can't see you having any problems. For Ontario you can write to www.oct.ca which is the Ontario College of Teachers site.
