Ironically enough, I was just having a conversation about how our family grew-up on Imperial Margarine . Mom never bought any other brand . And we were laughing about how the old commercial had people biting into a piece of toast w/Imperial on it, and then the horns would play.. . da,dada,da .. . . . and Presto ! A King or Queens Crown would appear on their heads (obviously implying that Imperial was fit for a king, or you'd 'feel' like a king or a queen when eating Imperial Margarine ). And then, somehow Nancy Pelosi came to mind as a related reference .. . .

So Does Nancy 'Feel' Like a Queen , now that she's Speaker ? One Bite Of The POWER Apple and PRESTO She's a Queen ?? All political puns aside.. . . .. . she DOES appear GIDDY to the max !!

Elway - It's not sexist if it's true . Please don't run for the 'sexist' excuse for me . In my life, I can remember all the speakers since Tip O'Neil . and NONE of them acted 'giddy'/ child-like , dem or rep . She does appear to be overwhelmed with new found power .

Funny, but I agree. She has an agenda that is very self-serving. I am unsure if feels like a queen or if she is just fulfilling her childhood fantasy of being a princess!

What did you expect her to do? Cower and simper and whisper thank you for voting for me for Speaker, I am SO humbled? She's a proud, tough, ambitious woman, why should she act any differently than Dennis Hastert did in his position? She was giddy the day she was voted in, that was a historical day and she had a right to be a bit giddy in my opinion. Since then she has acted anything BUT giddy and has gotten down to business. This is a very sexist question, obviously.

EDIT: Sorry, I don't normally run right to any sexist pigeonholing, but that's how I see your question. I disagree that she is giddy about anything these days.

Having a little experience living where Pelosi has "ruled" I think you are pretty close on this one. Pelosi has never had what you call a "leadership by consensus style". Instead she has always tried to dictate to the lowely peasants, I mean voters, what is best for them and if her ideas are questioned she shouts down the critics.

And folks, if you want to be taken serious, please drop the airplane issue. Its old news and has been resolved. I personally think she demanded it, but the Sgt of Arms of the House has come out and taken the heat and the Administration has said its not a deal.

The pundits and the media have thrown the people what they expect to hear, "Queen Pelosi." As we have just witnessed with the "Air Pelosi" hype, something as minor as credible sources will not prevent them from flooding the airwaves.

This goes to show that the U.S. is still quite immature in terms of dealing with female politicians. They are lambasted for showing the same ambition and force as their male counterparts.

She has a powerful position - absolutely, BUT her powers are limited just like anybody else in Washington, DC. Checks and balances.
