The GLBT questions section has become a big forum for people that want to spread anti-gay propaganda to unsuspecting teenagers. I'm starting to think the bad is outweighing the good here. Maybe this section of questions should just be erased altogether so these people wouldn't have a mouthpiece to use to spread so much bigotry.
Also, those that think gays are sinful should be happier that way because they won't have to be reminded gay people exist. What do you all think?

no i don't think they should get rid of the GLBT section because it's a great place for people who have questions about their sexuality to feel comfortable. i just don't understand why the basher come to this section and say such rude and hurtful things. if they don't like the way we live of lives then why are they in this section in the first place? it's not like to go to a men's forum and say that it's disgusting that they like women. i guess some people are still closed-minded and in my opinion there will always be those kind of people!

What a catch 22 - I have been amazed by the amount of hatred I've seen on here - but isn't getting rid of it giving in?
If these people hate homosexuality so much why consistantly seek it out over and over every day? Maybe these people are doing a favor by clearly showing their ignorance time after time. And the young impressionable types will learn from that.

no, that would be ridiculous. If yahoo got rid of every forum where the ignorant bigots preach their hatred and intolerance, then they'd have to get rid of a lot! Yahoo needs to do a better job of getting rid of the abusers, but I'm not going to let the few bad apples spoil the whole bunch! If they don't like us, then they should stay away from our forum! the only reason they come here is because they are ignorant, pathetic bigots with nothing better to do. they only repeatedly prove how uneducated and hateful they are. and they only impress other trolls like themselves. just keep reporting them!

Well, although there is much abuse of the LGBT section here, it would be wrong to get rid of it. We LGBT should have this forum available.
FYI, there are also a lot of religious bashers on the religious section as well. But that isn't a reason to eliminte that section

I think the forum should remain as it is. We just have to keep reporting the offenders -- Yahoo does take action. There will always be unhappy trouble-makers, but the pity is their own miserable condition. Most people can see beyond them and will not take their invitation to a "misery loves company" party.

I didn't back down when I was 14 -- I'm sure as hell not going to back down in my late 30's.
I think the section does more good than bad overall -- particuarly as it gives an outlet for people to ask questions that they otherwise couldn't -- and I find your motives for wanting to erase it -- either odd or suspicious.

I think they should just ignore the GLBT section if they don't like it. Live and let live. Aside from that, there is no easy way to stop hate mongers.

Between their idiotic responses, bad grammar (really bad), and hateful words, they show themselves to be what they really are. Ignorant.
If you were a young person fighting internally with gay issues, would you really be swayed to their side? The gay haters are their own worst enemy. So, in short, I say.....Keep the section.

NO! Yahoo won't delete a category. Besides, many people here have sincere questions. This forum really helps people. The @sses that use this to make fun of people should and do have abuse reports filed against them. Please keep the forum.
