The US is embroiled in a war against a religious faction. Isn't there a level of hypocricy in existence when a large percentage of Americans use their religious beliefs as the basis for their political stances...when we are fighting against a group that does the same? Why is it alright for Christians to use religion as a guidepost, but not our enemy in the middle east? I realize that their religious beliefs are very different...and their extremism is hatefilled. But hey, I read hate-filled garbage each day on this forum with respect to abortion and gay rights! How long before the Religious Right in America becomes extremist?

The religious right is already extremist. The only difference between them and the Muslim extremists is that they don't blow up themselves in the name of God. They have, however, blown up other people, shot other people and encouraged the assassination of other people in the name of God

Let's not forget, the Olympic bomber, Richard Rudolph who also blew up abortion clinics, killing and maiming workers.
Pat Robertson- how called for the assassination of a few heads of state. You had the documentary last year, " Jesus Camp" teaching 5 & 6 years olds to pray over George Bushs' image and be willing to sacrifice their lives for Christianity. The list is growing.
You are quite correct when you speak of the level of hypocrisy in this country when it comes to Christianity vs. Islam. Christians, when it is convenient for them harp on the teachings of the Old Testament and forget the teachings of Jesus Christ from the New Testament. This is not to say that we were sit by with a thumb up our a** and not fight back once attacked but to have President Bright Spark- not, say this was going to be a "crusade" did not help much either. This was further reinforced by General William Boykin who called it a Christian crusade which just solidifies in the mind of the Muslims that this is just an effort to change their religion to Christianity

Yes - first of all these money grubbing politicans are hardly really the christians they want people to think they are. Dont you know its OK for judeo chrisitans to spout all thier religous/politcal crap because they are correct and worship the one true god - just like the muslims!

The Founding Fathers put God in the Declaration of Independence and nobody said said they were hypocrites, that was because even the atheist Ben Franklin found they had a good moral code the had worked for thousands of years... nuff said.(christians aren't perfect..but at least they know when they mess up).

That is absurd. There is no equivalent concept anywhere in the Judeo-Christian religions to Jihad. Why do you spend time spewing propaganda?
