I know little about soccer... besides the really basic stuff. I've never played on a team before. What should I expect and do at the tryouts to please the coach and make the team?

well i would really go out and practice with a friend because soccer really is all about playing together and that is going to be something that the coach is going to be looking for plus of course the basics which u already know and soccer is a running sport so i suggest that u start running now

Dribbling is the key. If you show good dribbling there is no way they will cut you from the team. Try to show off your dribbling skills and you will impress. Running is also very important. You need to be able to run distances without stopping or slowing down. If you are a fast runner then your all set. Also if you say what position you are going to try out for i will try to help more.

Expect a lot of running, and after that expect even more.... Sprints and Distance are key part of tryouts and when your dead tired, you have to go out and play.... at our school tryouts are a week in hell.... but if you make it the accomplishment is amazing
