Do you have an integrated video card on your motherboard and a seperate pci/agp video card? If thats the case your bios might have turned your integrated card back on in the absense of the pci/agp card being taken out.

Reboot your computer and tap the F2 key this should bring up your bios. In there you will find intigrated options where you can select your video to off. This would allow the seperate card you have installed be the primary. Do not do this unless you have a seperate video card however.
