I wear a Speedo Lycra Jammer under my board shorts. Although I would really just want to wear the jammer instead of wearing the jammer and then board shorts over. You wear whatever you like. No one will criticize you due to the fact that your question was about what you wear "under" your board shorts.

I had a suit once that I had to wear briefs under as well. It's perfectly ok. You don't lose anything. Many people do wear underwear under their board shorts for pretection. It's perfectly alright.
