Since the weight is 195 pounds, the kangaroo is obviously more than 5 feet tall.
Let the number of inches over 5 feet be 'x'
140 + 5x = 195
5x = 195 - 140
5x = 55
x = 11 inches.
The kangaro if 5 feet 11 inches tall.

nope. you know that if a kangaroo is 5 feet tall, then it should weigh 140 pounds. knowing that you subtract 140 from 195 getting an answer of 55. you then divide 55 by 5 (because each additional inch of height equals 5 more pounds of weight) and you get 11. that means that the kangaroo should be 5 feet plus eleven inches equaling 5 feet, 11 inches. Hope that helps!!

195 minus 140 = 55 pounds. That corresponds to 11 inches (5 pounds for each inch above 5 feet). So, the height is 5 ft. 11 inches. How did you get 7 ft. 2 inches?

5 ft 11 in.
The first 5 ft take away 140 lb from 195 lb, remaining 55 lb.
divide 55 by 5 you get 11 inches in excess of first 5 ft.

I think it is 5'11"

w=140+5(h-60)

195=140 +5(h-60)
55=5(h-60)
11=h-60 h=71 or 5'11"
