Well. Rutgers, it's farther away from home and more expensive. I can get away from home more, though I don't know anyone going there, so it'll be hard finding roomates for an apartment. Otherwise I'll have to drive an hour there and back. It's also larger which scares me. But it's more popular, meaning better jobs after college? Most of my friends are going to Montclair, it's smaller and I would be more comfortable there. Also it's only about 15-20 minutes from home. I'm guessing the education is the same... Anyone have any experience in either one of these? I don't know what to do.

Ignore people that are afraid of gaining knowledge from people outside of there range of comfort. All colleges get profs from the same pool and all suffer from the same problems.

I would say go to Rutgers. If you are undergrad, then they will put you in a dorm and assign you a roommate if you do not have one. Also living away from home will let you grow. You will meet a ton of new friends, and if you really want to, you can always come home and visit your high school friends. My bet would be that they will come and visit you at Rutgers to get away from commuting and their parents.

You are an adult now, get out of your parent's house!!

I've heard horror stories about Rutgers professors, that some don't speak English there, and it poses a problem for students. I didn't even bother to apply to Montclair, I went out of state, and it was the best decision of my life. Go for the college that you feel more comfortable with. But if I were you, I'd research the faculty in the departments very carefully to make sure you will be able to understand them.
