No, it was just that guy. I think he has the hots for you. I know the post you're referring to, and he asked if he was paying soldiers for using the internet. Maybe you should ask him for a raise.
By the way, I'm in Kabul, Afghanistan. What business is it of his what we do when we're not on duty?

Don't let it bother you. Just because some fool out there that never served in uniform wants to get attention, no sane person would post comments like that and I hope you won't give this issue much attention or credibility.
Sample the population and you find 90 + percent of Americans are supportive and sympathetic and want you home safe when it is all over.
I will wager that person was never in the service and does not know what he/she is talking about.
Take good care of yourself, be careful, come home intact and good luck with your missions. I am a Liberal who will respect you for your service. I have a sense of what it means.
Navy,
Vietnam era. ( I had lots of down time even on the DD underweigh - you just had to take it in brief opportunities when you were not sleep deprived ). Good Luck

I am a liberal Democrat and I come from a long line of folks who have proudly worn a uniform and fought when their government asked them to.
I hope you don't let a few bad apples represent the majority of Liberals who want for all of you to be safe and home soon!!!
The anger is directed at the administration that made you go to Iraq in the first place!!
Are you aware that there is information out now that the intel was manufactured by the administration to go to war in the first place?
It is being presented to Congress soon!!
I hope and pray for the safety of everyone who is risking their lives so bravely!!!
We will do what we can to bring you home as soon as we can!!!
God Bless America!!!

Please accept this heartfelt apology for any and all criticisms or stupidity you read on this forum directed at the troops. While people (regardless of party affiliation) may not support the war, as they say, there is no question about the respect and devotion that the American people - and other nations - feel for the commitment you have made and the sacrifices inherent in that commitment.
You have far more courage than those of us who sit at our PCs, in our safe little homes, spewing our political views. Know that - for yourself and those there with you.
God Bless you and keep you in the palm of His hand....

Politics are in control of Government. All soldiers have the support of the American people. No matter how they try and get us to think differently. It is all about hating anything George Bush wants or does. It is sad , but, 2008 Presidential election looms large right now. Everything they can do to slander our President or our troops will be front page news. I pray you come home safely and wear your uniform proudly. The American people owe everyone of our soldiers a debt of gratitude for serving to protect our country , no matter where in the world it takes you.

I'm a "conservative liberal" or "liberal conservative" (if I have to be labled at all), and believe it or not, born and raised in the military. I don't believe for one minute that American civilians would begrude our soldiers "down time."
Even soldiers in WWII welcomed a respite from battle, and took it when and where it became available. The men in the bombers risked their lives flying their missions, and then returned to their barracks in England. (I've learned alot about that - my Dad was a radio operator in B-24's, and he flew 30 missions from England.) Every soldier has to have some time to try to connect with something resembling normalcy, and be able to communicate with their family - it's essential to mental and emotional health.
My husband and my brother served in Vietnam, and trust me when I say I wish that our troops then had the support from the public that you have today.
Please don't reconsider wearing your uniform - wear it proudly - every time I see a person in a military service uniform, I say a prayer of thanks for their service and the sacrifice that goes with it.

You should know by now that the Libs will stop at nothing. And with the race for the White House having begun two years in advance of the next presidential election, I have to believe that things are only gonna get worse. If you haven't already, you'd better brace yourself for more than just IED's.

I wouldn't wear it. I would be disgraced to wear the uniform. It represents more than just defense of the United States. It represents the idea that we are a country that has no morals and only cares about expanding the idea of "democracy" weather it be just or not. Its no different than if we were spreading communism. Its wrong to push your idea off onto another country or peoples way of life. King George did it to America 250 years ago and look what happened to us. Perhaps we should leave them alone and let the chips fall where they may.
How can you say that you truly believe what you are doing is good when so many innocent die at the hands of the American way? So what if they flew a plane into our economic center? Its called retribution for a lifetime of never ending meddling that the U.S. has done. If you were to read some history about the middle east you'd see that America has done a lot to contribute to the demise and stagnation of all those countries.
Make no mistake however, I respect you, A LOT. I'm just saying that the U.S. foreign policy leaves a lot to be desired for and what your doing is allowing the government to push their policy on a counrty that isn't going to "take."
The only way Iraq will succed is if they have a revolution themselves. No country can be set up quasi american style.

I am a liberal, I am just against the war as there really was no good reason to attack Iraq, and there are fewer reasons to stay, they are involved in a civil war and need a political solution, made by the Iraqi people and not a armed conflect and a puppet government made by the U.S. By the way wear your uniform home next summer, I will be the one thanking you for your service.
