There are several kinds of sliders- you can find photos of many of them at http://www.austinsturtlepage.com and their World of Turtles gallery.

At the same site, you will find care sheets for the species.

As a general rule, sliders eat preyty much anything they can catch. IN the wild, they eat a lot of bugs, worms, shrimp, small crustaceans, snails, fish, etc. as well as leafy water plants.

In captivity, we can do a lot of that, and add some things like dark leafy greens, beef heat, and cooked chicken.

Eggs, red meat, and bananas would only be small, occasional treats.

To me it sounds like a yellow bellied slider but cannot be too sure with out seeing a picture,i have quite a few turtles myself and willing to give u advice if you would like, turtles arent the easiest of pets to keep if you know wat you are doing, make sure your turtles get a green food i.e cucumber etc they also like tomatoes, worms, i also buy frozen turtle food from the local pet shop to supplement their calcium for shell and bone structure
