Two definitions.

To podge is to poke a podger or stick in and out of a substance to work it to get a consistancy you require.

A podge is your beer belly which will wobble if a podger is pushed in and out of it.

As far as I know it is a term for being a bit plump, or having a bit of puppy fat.

However, on Irish TV there are 2 puppets called Podge and Rodge, so it may be relating to that (they are red-haired and really rude to the point of obscenity sometimes!).

well if someone said to me i was a podge they would mean i was a little overweight

Erm... I've always known this to mean like fat. Like you'd say "She's a bit podgey" for example.
