Yes you can. It does not have a Vista sticker because when you bought it they were pushing XP not Vista. The only difference is you want to make sure you have enough memory and disk space in it because Vista is a worse resource hog even than XP.
Is there a specific reason why you want to get Vista? Especially now while it is a new release and likely to have lots of bugs show up until Microsoft issues its first set of patches? Everything you have on your XP will keep running even though Vista exists. It is like buying a new car when the new models came out even when your "old" car is just a year or two old. The old one still runs well - why go for newer yet?

Take it to Circuit City they will tell you if you can upgrade. If you don't know your laptops spec. then take it somewhere. If you know your laptop is capable of using Vista then just buy the upgrade. You may want to buy the full version though, if you don't own a previous version of XP. If you have to reinstall you will need a previous version of Windows. If this is all Greek to you then take it somewhere and have it done for you.

It does nt depends on ur steaker or something like that. The system requirements are the must things. If u have u can do it.
Vista requires:-
Minmum 512mb ram(I will recmmend more than 2gb for high graphics)
7gb hd it takes so if u have more than 1gb ram and 80gb hd then go for vista otherwise ur lap will be very much slow and without nice graphics.
