We idolize Bill Clinton, for having an extra maratial affair and William Burrohs (I think that was who did it) for shotting his wife in the head, and do not make the people famous that did really good stuff, like Oprah or Mother Teresa. {I realize spelling isn't very good, but I'm sick and tired right now}

Mmm interesting question. Brings to mind the importance of creating importance for what you value. Sometimes we get so focussed on the bad or negative that we miss the good.

As for the examples you raise, all are interesting examples of people. All human, all good and bad, by nature, but some with better examples of goodness or badness.

For a husband, I would never select Bill Clinton or Burroughs, Oprah or Mother Teresa..

However as individuals, if I had a chance between George Bush or Bill Clinton, I would choose Clinton any day, even with his public extramarital affair.

On the subject of peace making, I would much rather have Mother Teresa living by example of how it is done, rather than Bill Clinton or Oprah.

On the subject of being their best genuine self, and utilizing their celebrity for good I would select Oprah, Mother Teresa, or Clinton.

I have a picture of Oprah on my desk to help me remember that you can come from humble beginnings and be one of the most influential people in the world, by not allowing yourself to get in the way.

MOST people have good, if we look for that.. MOST people have a darkness or bad, and we don't have to look hard for that.. Look for the good, the best, and you will find yourself happier, and healthier. :D

Feel better!

The good and innocent are always accused of the bad and hostile. I don't understand why they do this, maybe out of jealousy or lack of kindness. I don't idolize anyone except God and my mom, pretty much because I haven't met Bill Clinton in person and I don't know him at all so I don't know how he would act towards me. I don't idolize him, though. William Burrohs is someone I've never even heard of, so I can't idolize him. I hope he gets his punishment for that, crime isn't very beneficial. You've got it all wrong, we do appreciate and reflect from, Oprah, Mother Teresa, Hillary Clinton, and women and men who did all sorts of things in history. We should be with the good and bad, we need to learn to be with them and accustom ourselves to that, and we should shake hands with the good and bad, because we're all just people.
