The problem is that when I open Internet Explorer I AM online already. Why isit doing this? How can I fix it? I have netzero as my ISP.

Right click the internet explorer Icon on the desktop (or in control panel) and go to the connections tab. Select the correct connection to use here. If there are options "Never dial a connection" in that section, choose the correct one here.
Also, sometimes just clicking connect when you are prompted will fix this too. I am assuming you are not using proxy servers and that kind of stuff here too...

Try these:
1. File menu -> Work offline
2. Tools menu -> Internet Options -> Connection -> Never dial a connection

on Internet explorer go to Tools then Internet Options then Connections and make sure you choose "Always dial my default connection" and if it says that Current: NONE then make sure you select your netzero from the list and click SET DEFAULT then Apply ,OK and you are done!!!

Try deleting your temporary files from your explorer toolbar

first try to reboot your dsl modem- turn it off and on
or got to the set-up area in the comtrol section and reenable your connection
god and bill gates willing it will still be there
