wrong section and belly buttons are the place where your fallopian tube was used to be. The fallopian tube is where you get your food, water, oxygen and dipose of carbon dioxide and waste when you were still inside your mummy's little womb.
After you were born, this tube was cut off and the midwife tied a knot on your end of the fallopian tube. After a while since that happened, your tube shrunk and pulled into your stomach. What is left of that tube is your bely button.

It's the place where the umbilical cord was attached which fed you will you were developing. All mammals have some sort of belly button. Premably it's actual position is something to do with the fact that most of the vital organs are in that area so we sort of grow out from the middle.

Now come on girl u should know that the umbilical cord from the mothers womb attatches to ur belly button, when ur born the midwife clamps off the cord and cuts it leaving u with a small part of the cord which eventually drops off, hence ur left with ur belly button.

To put it simply, the belly button is a scar. This is the point of attachment for the umbilical cord which feeds nutrition to the liver of a fetus. When a baby is born the remains of the severed cord dries up and falls off and we are left with the scar.

Our belly button is where the umbilical (can't spell) cord is attached to use while we are in our mothers womb, it is how we get blood, other body fluids and food to use while we are growing. Did you know you have the same blood type as your father? When we are concieved the father sperm supplies our blood type and that's why we have the same blood type as our father. The reason the umbilical is clamped when it is cut after we are born it is to keep us from bleeding to death.

Its where your birth tube was cut. Thats why everyones belly buttons are different and some people have innies some have outties... it depends on how they were cut!
Pretty pointless once you are out the womb... but guess its better than having a long tube dangerlin down hehe now that would be weird... but if they arent cut they do fall off naturally anyway.
I love belly button piercings thou. Mine rocks!!!

We have because we were born, lived in a womb and were fed through the umbilical cord which connected us to our mothers. They also make your stomach look more interesting, and give all those girls who like to flash their bellies, a focal point!

Because it was originally a tube connected to our mothers so when we were in their womb some of the food they ate would feed us, and when we were born the tube was cut
