I don't know much about the Bradford riots but I am assuming that you mean stoned as it having stones and rocks thrown at them - If this is the case then it does actually make sense, think about it, if you were hiding behind a riot shield would you be able to do much either.
If you mean stoned as on weed as some people suggested then I doubt that the public would actually get to know about it, and it would be covered up so to speak - If they were then I would suggest that they paid for it or even got it free but not from the evidence locker as 'confiscated gear' has to be logged and recorded.
It could be they got it from there but I am betting not

I agree with you OP. It's ironic though how the police can be so brutal unnecessarily but when we actually need them to be a bit brutal, they just stand back and let it all happen! Ian Tomlinson, was he not the man that the riot police struck on the legs who then had a heart attack or stroke and died? That was totally different, clearly in the video the police just attacked him for absolutely no reason whatsoever. He was just walking past. They had every right to be 'dragged through the courts' for attacking an innocent person. This riot business is a different matter entirely, these stupid chavs are actually breaking into shops, stealing stuff, setting things on fire, etc... THE POLICE SHOULD FCKING STEP IN AND KNOCK THEM THE FCK OUT. I saw on the news briefly last night, a guy saying his shop was getting attacked by these riotters and he stood up to them, practically begging for them not to trash his shop or set it on fire, and so they spared him. He said the police were right there, just 60 yards away, and did nothing to help.

This is "Bradford we is talking about ere innit wer all da dealaz liv."Why do you think they were stoned..probably because they had done a raid earlier that day that caused the riot in the first place....I dont live in bradford but had to pay extra council tax as a neighbouring borough because of them ..that really pi***d me off!

If that is true well - I am shocked. Stoned as in drugs - or stoned as people throwing stones at them? I have always had a lot of respect for the British police.
