They get it from 50 years of trying to allow the UN to resolve issues and wars (neither has been successful). Grand illusions as I would put it. They mean well but cannot grasp the reality that someone wants us dead because of who we are.

If your question weren't so general, perhaps it could really be answered. What policy exactly, why is it defeatist, and how is terrorism being confronted worldwide presently? As it stands now, your question is just an invitation for vague rah-rahs from the conservative crowd. But then, maybe that was your intention, not really sure...I'll check back in case you give more details that could make this question truly answerable.

Why are republican voters so hypnotized by the "war on terror?" There is no war, if you can't find the enemy in 5 years how the hell can you say there is a war. They've killed more innocents than so called terrorists.
Having a different opinion than main stream opinion doesn't make one a terrorist. If that were true then the 26% that still think G.w.B is doing a good job should be sent to Cuba for imprisonment with the rest of the "terrorists."
Republicans and Dems are such narrow minded imbeciles. Both parties have contributed equally to this nations demise. Our fall from grace will be swift just like Rome's.

Because the American people have finally figured out what George W. Bush and Dick Cheney are up to. It is not a "defeatist policy." It is a plan to stop waisting billions of dollars on a useless war to exploit the Iraqis oil.

Evidently you do not want to see the fact that our foreign policies over the last 50+ years have created Islamic Radicals!!!!!
They weren't out to destroy America before that!!!!
If they were then also why have the come in large numbers to the United States to assimilate?
Have you bothered to question why on one side we appease and do busines with countries like China and Russia when they are the ones arming the Islamics????

Thats just not true, Rush, Americans want to fight terrorism, Iraq is not in any way connected to terroism. It is just diverting resourses away from fighting terrorism and its effect has been to create more terrorist. This administration has failed the people of this country in so many ways but to fight a war in Iraq is the biggest error that it has made.

I don't believe that democrats have a defeatist attitude. What they have is a socialist attitude. They think the world is at a campfire and we all should sit around it and roast marshmellows together. They cannot believe that anyone could hate them or wish them dead.

And what did the Republicans do that was so great? Make more people and countries hate us? Or make terrorists who want to kill us where there wasn't any before? Cuz that don't sound too good to me. I guess it does to you though.
