hi some of my goldfish are flicking them selves off the sand, i cannot see any white spots on them, are they just playing, also if i *** white spot, will it hurt them i have a 55 gallon tank, and it says to add one piplit per 2 gallons, just sounds alots 25 piplets, i dont want to kill my already over populated tank, lol

Usually fish that are flicking on the sand or gravel are trying to get rid of parasites. Ick is only one such parasite, there are plenty of others, some far too small to see. I would suggest you find a parasite medication that uses Malachite Green as an active ingredient and treat the tank with that for at least 10 days, Those are stong and only a few drops per gallon are needed, just follow the directions closely.

Sounds like nitrite poisoning, caused by bad water quality.

sounds like poor water quality, test it. especially if your tank is over populated.
