Let me start by saying that the prequels suck!! I think they shouldn't even be considered in the same breath as the original movies. Having said that lets move on. I loved the characters. They each had a role to fulfill. Han was the action hero, Leia the girl power princess and Luke the soul of the movie. The dynamic between them was fantastic. It made the movie believable and a fan favorite.

Every last bit of it!
1 of the best things Lucas did...at the beginning of A New Hope, you see Luke standing there looking out over the terrain with the 2 suns of Tatooine. Then at the end of Revenge of the Sith you see his aunt & uncle are holding him as a baby in that same spot, same view. That was the greatest. It ended as it began.

What's not to like -
the classic struggle of good vs. evil
a young man struggling to find his place in the world
special effects that were cutting edge for their time
In my book episodes 4, 5 and 6 are the best. 1, 2 and 3 left me a little wanting - Jar Jar Binks anyone.

The visual effects were state of the art when they were released many years ago. And it took quite a few years for the rest of hollywood to catch up. In fact, if Lucas hadn't been so generous in sharing technology, they might still be trying!

The awsome part was how they went back in time to do Episodes 1-2-3, so you pretty much knew what was going to happen and you knew how everything would eventually wind up after having already seen Episodes 4-5-6. *sarcasm*
