One-on-one, the tiger wins. But hyenas are more dangerous in their packs.

first there are no tigers where hyenas preside!!! and I'm sick of hearing all this about which predator would win. these animals know the ramifications behind such a fight, and most would never happen. although a male bengal tiger would kill the single hyena. im shocked as biologist that The Animal Planet and Discovery channel air such non-sense. Lions and hyenas do occassionally fight, but try and avoid it. Hyenas are strongest in packs and have the strongest jaw among cats, and yes they are cats based on their dental formula. If hyenas have a large enough clan, not even the lions will stick around.

a Tiger would destroy a hyena, but vs. a pack I don't know. I would say a pack of 3 maybe 4 the tiger would still win. I saw a lion kick the crap out of some hyenas on the discovery channel before, but while they were running away a ton of vultures came down and ate all of the lions catch in like one minute and flew off again before the lion could get any of it.

See,Hyenas are having the Maximum Jaw Power among the carnivorus animals living in woods.They always prefer being in groups.They are simply fearless.If the Tiger - Hyena fight is one-to-one,Tiger will win because of its larger volume.But if a Tiger is encircled by a group of Hyenas,Tiger may be wounded badly and loose the fight.

Actually, I just saw this this am on TV. The tiger would win-one on one. However, hyenas are 'pack' animals and in their pack they would win.
