let she drive for x hrs to go frm ballpark to her home
therefore distance btwn her home and park will be 35x
therefore time taken to reach ballpark from her home will be distance / speed = 35x/40
but total time is 2 hrs
therefore x +35x/40 = 2
therefore 75x = 80
therefore x = 80/75 hrs
therefore x = 80*60/75 min
therefore x = 64 min

Let x and y be time.
x + y = 2
35y = 40x
y = -x + 2
y = 8/7x
8/7y = -8/7x + 16/7
15/7y = 16/7
y = 16/15
112 = 40x
14/15 = x.
1 hour = 60 minutes. 60/15 = 4. 4 times 14 = 56. 56 minutes were spent driving to the ballpark. 16 times 4 = 64. One hour and 4 minutes were spent driving home.

She lives 37.5 Miles from the ballpark. Her return trip would take 64 minutes. Her trip to the ballpark took 56 minutes.

64 mins + 56 Mins = 2hrs

64 mins is the answer

64
Her average speed was (40+35)/2=37,5
If she took 2 hours, the total distance is 37,5*2=75 miles. So the return journey is 37,5miles. She did that with 35 miles per hour, so the time she took was 37,5/35 hours,multiplied by 60 minutes, 64 minutes.

I think I can answer your question if you tell me the distance from the ballpark to her home.

According to what you said, I would assume 1 hour which equals 60 min.

40x = 35y
x + y = 2
40(2-y)=35y
80-40y-35y=0
80=75y
y=80/75*60min/hr
Drive home takes 64 minutes
