Does anyone have any idea when the sixth book in Jean Auel's "Earth's Children" series is coming out?

I read "Clan of the Cave Bear" a couple of years ago and have been hooked since. Anyone have news on when she's finishing the sixth book?

Good question Dude. She's been working on that one since 2002. I started reading them over 20 years ago when she started the series. Fantastic books. I've actually read them all a couple of times....just so I could remember them. Part of the reason the books are so good (and the reason it takes to long to write them) Jean Auel actually does on the ground research for each book. If she tells you that they lived in a cave by a certain river in certain valley then the cave is actually there. If she says its a half a day walk north to the marsh, then its half a days walk north to the marsh. She is actually out there tracing her characters footsteps through Europe and that's one of the reasons her books are so compelling. Have you seen the movie Clan of the Cave Bears with Darryl Hannah? They did a pretty good job with the first book considering what an impossible task that was. Thanks for reminding me of some great books and for letting me share my enthusiasm

I've read all five of the Earth's Children series by Jean M. Auel, and have not yet heard of a sixth installment.

i quite have a marvelous type of in call for books written through creating use of Anne McCaffrey. She writes quite interesting dragon books. also yet another author that writes a collection referred to because the Dragon Jousters, is Mercedes Lackey. you need to envision those authors out once you're into dragon books like me! ?

Wikipedia says it is still "in preparation". That is if you trust that resource. My Mom has not got it yet so I know it is not out. She is hooked too.
