I had a small bit of brown discharge yesterday. I had absolutely no signs of it the rest of the day and the baby's heartbeat is strong. I have been told that my uterus is low lying and have had 5 red blood incidents -- but this seemed to be different. Any ideas on this?

Yes, it can be Leukorhea a discharge that woman have on occasion. Or if your uteris is low lying it could just be a drop from your mucus plug. Something that yor body will produce in full when you go into labor. It's not uncommon for that too happen. It happened to me all the time when I was pregnant. Good luck!

Given it is your baby, I would most definitely schedule a call with your physician...immediately. There are SO many different variables as to why this would occur. For me, the placenta separated from the wall of my uterus. I had periodic ultrasounds to ensure my baby was fine. What you are describing continued throughout my entire pregnancy. However, again, there are so many different causes, you definitely should not rely on Yahoo for an answer! Get to your physician!!!!

Brown blood is old dried blood. It usually appears after vaginal exams or sexual intercourse. Let your doctor know at your next appointment, or call and leave word with the nurse. Usually small amounts brown blood/discharge warrants very little concern.
Congrats on your pregnancy and Good luck!
