Do you use clorox to clean the floors around the toilet? Don't be afraid to soak the floor around the toilet , I use a combination of clorox and dish soap to clean , ummm just thought of something , Do you have carpet in the bathroom or is it tile or linoleum? Carpet is not good for a bathroom....it will hold moisture and then mold will grow. Well anyway...try clorox , if you mix clorox with certain other cleaners it will create a toxic fume. Be careful , Good luck

Two things that all the answers so far have in common are teaching the boys a little hygiene and the proper cleaning and maintenance of the toilet. But what about carpets or mats in the room? If you have any and they are not being cleaned, all other measures are doomed to failure. And now that the room has reached the "public restroom" stage, a floor to ceiling cleaning is definitely in order. Good luck.

After raising 3 boys I found the only thing to do is clean the bowl inside and out daily. It's a lot easier than putting it off and having a gross mess on your hands. Don't expect for it to go away on it's own. Chalk the base of the toilet with tub chalking so the urine can't get under the toilet or you won't get rid of the smell. Toilets are really too far to the ground for men.

Maybe it's not how you've been cleaning and disifencting, perhaps it's the cleaners your using, or perhaps there may be a small leak under the sink, or even the toilet area. I'm sorry, this is not much help, but maybe try some different cleaners, or AirWick has those wonderful airmist timed scents, maybe that might be the key as well, Hope this helps, Take care.

It is coming from the toilet. Use Clorox toilet bowl cleaner and get up under the rim and around the back of the bowl. Clean where the lid screws on. And you can buy a cake of deodorant that you can hang inside the bowl. Teach your boys to aim carefully and to clean up after themselves.

Try using cleaners with bleach in it because it's strong and it dose a good job of getting rid of unwanted smells. But what ever you do wear a round the house shirt while your cleaning with the bleach cleaner.

You need to seal the end of the "S" bend at the bottom of the floor where it has a cuff around...sometimes smells and urinated water collects there...use a clear silicone sealant, like the plumber uses.....that works...(Oh! and for really good aim and a fun thing for the boys, put a ... target .. in the bowl...don't worry, targets are self cleaning when you flush)....good luck

Buy one of those small steam cleaners... I have one that kind of looks like a gun, it came with my Bissell carpet cleaner. It has different nozzles and you fill the cartridge with plain water. Then plug it in, wait for it to heat up, and spray steam into all the cracks and crevices around the toilet, etc. It works really well! You do have to have a towel on hand to dry things up a little afterward.

We made our kids start cleaning the entire bathroom and then checked on it when they did. Once they saw that they were causing themselves more work the bathroom got LOTS better very soon. Good luck!
