what is the best way to get rid of laziness?
1) Make a conscious and firm decision to get rid of laziness, considering the benefits that accrue and the price you have to pay for it. Once you have decided to get rid of laziness, there should not be any compromise even on holidays ,except days of medical or other unavoidable situations.
2)Having decided to get rid of laziness ,start practising from today(not from tomorrow)
and try to live by it moment by moment .But no compromise on basic and minimum comforts and requirements, like getting 8 hrs sleep a day, or taking some rest and relaxation when required , reading books and periodicals etc.
3) Take healthy and balanced diet, mild exercise like brisk walking for at least an hour (cumulatively) in a day along with necessary changes in life style modification.
4) Avoid smoking altogether.
5) Cut down alcohol in total or to a minimum.
6) Cut down meat and dairy products.
7)Increase intake of fish ,vegetables and fruits.
8)BE USER FRIENDLY TO ALL IN ALL SITUATIONS TO THE BEST POSSIBLE EXTENT.
9) Concentrate and focus your attention on your career , which is backbone of your life, happiness in your family, respect in the society etc
10) Love to live and radiate enthusiasm, happiness to the environment you live, with a positive attitude to the business of happy living and not mere existence.

my mom used to say "a body at rest stays at rest" which I guess means if you don't try and take that first step and do something, anything, you will never do anything. I feel that I am also lazy, and if I don't get off of this computer and do something today, I never will get anything done. The worst thing for me about going the whole day without accomplishing anything is at the end of the day I feel depressed and useless. So if at the end of the day I can look and see that I did something, anything, I know I will be able to sleep better. I believe laziness is like alcoholism, it takes one step at a time.

By Finally Loving Yourself, FLYing. Check out www.flylady.net . It goes by the principal that 'you are worth the effort' of doing work, to make your life more peaceful. Flylady is amazing. She even addresses issues like being overweight and getting enough sleep. It is all about motivation. Best wishes.

Your first activity should be an exercise. This will awaken your " sleepy" muscles, increase your catecholamines, nor-epinephrine and epinephrine , hormones which are responsible for boosting your energy for the day.
