ok, so like at the top, my villagers don't have food. but the weird thing is that i still have some berries on my bush but no one will pick them. i keep on dragging the farmers there but still won't pick them :(. i'm also just playing the demo mode. is that the problem??? i need to find another food supply QUICK! what kinds of food can i get???!! (remember, i'm just playing the demo)

Like Teresa wrote, you need more 'tech' pts to get a better food supply. Try to have as many adult villagers work at the table. Don't forget that Master Scientist lvl generates the most tech pts. When you get to the 6000? pts., then buy the 2nd farming lvl.
If you only have 10 or less villagers, try to have 1 for building, 1 for farming, then the rest as Scientist. As the game progresses, switch to the other crafts.

I'm playing that game right now too, I've already beat it once before (several months ago).
Your farmers won't pick berries every time they go to the bush because sometimes they can't find any. You need to get 6000 tech points so you can buy the next level of farming and they can plant crops (the fertile soil next to the lowest hut). That is a much more stable food source.
If you're in desperate need, start searching for mushrooms and drag your kids on top of them. They're worth about 8 food points each so it will keep you going if you're desperate.
