The best interpretation will come from within you, It's recurring because there is an unresolved issue in your life that needs addressing. Go with your intuition.
I'm no dream interpreter but the lack of response when you're being spoken to may indicate that you are unprepared for an encounter with someone. A tip;- Think about who you are likely to meet tomorrow, and what they are likely to say to you.
Sleep on it and good luck

Generally dreams where you are being asked questions that you can't reply to, mean that there are issues in your waking life that need addressing, but you are scared by the answer, as you already know the answer, but cant face it. For example, it may be financial issues, or work issues or relationship issues. Maybe theres something your not happy about and you know it needs sorting out, but are scared. Once you find the advice you need, and deal with it, then the dream may stop.

Dreams, I believe have different meaning depending on what you are experiencing at any specific time. You have to ask yourself..... Am I experiencing stress, sadness, unwanted pressure or anything that may affect you negatively at the moment. Sometimes your subconscious may react to stress even when you think you're fine. It is important to be aware of your state of mind, or mental health. So, it may be a good idea to sit down and evaluate and solve any unresolved issues you may be facing at the moment before they get on top of you. Think of the dream as being a little warning to yourself.

The people asking you questions in your dream are you...They just represent different aspects of yourself...They are questioning you.....or you are questioning yourself in some why...is there a decision that you have to make or will have to make? The food in your mouth, I am not too sure, but, can an advoidance of answering the question. Even if you cannot swallow, you can spit out the food and answer....So when you are dreaming try telling yourself to spit out the food.

It means you are under a lot of stress at the moment and people are expecting a lot from you. You wish you could run away from 'it' or get it all done and out of the way. To address this dream, sort out something that has been on your mind that you know you need to do but have been putting off.
