I don't believe that BMI scale fully, because I play basketball once per week and consider myself to be fairly active.

I'm not a muscle bound freak, but I don't have "rolls of fat" either. I There is probably an inch, to an inch of a half of excess fat on my stomach, but it's not like a jello commerical or anything.

Does this sound fat?

I really don't think you're fat...my dad is 6'8", 275 and I don't see him as fat at all because there really isn't any on him. You may be slightly overweight, but it's nothing to worry about as you are active.

No. It would be hard to say without seeing you. But you can tell whether you have a lot of body fat or not, even without stepping on a scale. Can you pinch an inch? Muscle weighs more than fat so the number is deceptive. One person who doesn't work out may be morbidly obese at 225 lbs. Another person who works out regularly may be extremely slender & chiselled at 225. The scale & BMI are only meant as a guideline. Don't take them as gospel. You have to pay attention to what you see in the mirror as well & use common sense. If you don't have rolls of fat then you are probably not fat. Carrying fat in your stomach is the most dangerous place for your health. Most of us have a bit of a tummy. Just keep exercising & watch your diet. Drink lots of water, eat healthy. Avoid beer! That's why it's called a beer belly!

If you're 6'2" you're quite tall so you don't want to waste away to nothing! You don't sound fat! Just take care of yourself.

i might ought to make certain him. It relies upon. Muscle weighs extra advantageous than fats. you won't be able to continually choose by means of the quantity. A muscular 225 lb guy may well be very in good condition mutually as somebody devoid of muscle who's 225 might seem obese. 6 ft 2 is amazingly tall so i might think of above 2 hundred lb may well be established yet i'm no expert. So i might examine out a well-being chart (physique mass index or BMI) which calculates a wholesome weight for each top & age team. a undeniable share of physique fats is wholesome. men are meant to have a decrease share of fats than women folk. We needless to say carry extra fats (those pesky breasts & hips...) i'm 5'7" a hundred thirty five lbs. With a BMI around 23% (I actually have a scale that calculates it, no longer top yet supplies an thought) physique fats. human beings call me skinny yet to me i'm purely generic. skinny became whilst i became a hundred and five lbs. I did improve into extra shapely & gained slightly muscle by means of the years...

Medically, your ideal weight is 195 lbs. The average weight that people of your gender, height and age would describe as their ideal weight is 202 lbs. So either way you are between 23 and 30 lbs overweight. It's very good that you're active!

I'm not into the health craziness. If I were you I would take up some other activity during the week to augment basketball - something that you enjoy that is also active - not necessarily an exercise - be conscious of what I eat and quit worrying about it.

No the BMI is a total piece of crap. It only goes by your height and weight. If that's the case then many fotball players would be listed as obese. Just look at troy polamalu of the steelers. 6ft, 230 lbs but it's all muscle. If you really want to know your fat percentage then go to a doctor.

Btw to answer your question, no, you don't sound like your fat. Maybe a little husky but not fat.

The BMI scale has not been updated in almost 40 years. At least that is what an Army Recruiter told me.

It depends on what your muscle ratio actually is. Without seeing a picture of you, no one is going to be able to tell you whether or not you are fat. You can go to any physycian and have them measure your muscle/fat ratio.
