i need to know the meaning of these 2 colors in dreams:
orange and blue.
i had a dream YEARS ago about a friend of mine on the beach wearing an orange swim suit, then i had one last night of him wearing a blue one....it's almost the same dream, only difference is the color of his swimming shorts. very very weird.

Colors mean different things to different people, depending on what has happened. Maybe he recently went through some kind of change.
I do, however, have what orange and blue traditionally mean in literature and art.
Orange-A mixture of yellow and red. Yellow is unachieved ambition, easily tainted, etc. And red is intensity, passion, etc. Orange usually means something along the lines of infidelity.
Blue-Is associated more with the innocent side of the spectrum. It means fidelity, mystery, space, etc.
Maybe you used to like him (orange), but you have grown apart since the last time you've had the dream (blue)?

Fretful's link may help you, but you have to keep in mind that what the colors mean to YOU and no one else has precedence over everything. It is your dream after all. Have you ever thought about the symbolism that those colors may mean to you? Have you had something with those two or each on of those colors to give it a special meaning? Just throwing that out there.

U get colour in yer dreams cause u will not enjoy then in black & white.Secondly,repeatedly wearing same colors wanna make the dream boring hence change in the colors of the swimming shorts

I was reading an article only a few days ago about the meaning of dreams. Lots of research has gone into the meaning of dreams and the conclusion is that the person who has the dream has the best chance of interpretting it correctly. A dream is simply the subconcious mind trying to send a message to the conscious mind. It usually always has to do with your emotions. If you take notice of your dreams, maybe write them down, even the ones you believe not to be very significant, you will see they will reflect in an obscure way what is going on in your life. A man who had just lost his wife used to dream about babies who died. When it got to the point where he was dreaming about happy smiling babies, it meant he had dealt with the loss of his wife....his grieving was done and he was ready to move on with his life. I have dreamt some really strange things and when I have analysed the dream it reflects whatever was going on in my life at that time. If you really thought about this dream you could probably work it out yourself because you know what is going on in your life and I dont, but I would say the meaning of colours has something to do with emotion...how you are feeling about this friend. When you had the dream when he was wearing an orange swimsuit...how was your relationship with him....I bet it was a little obscure...that you didnt really know where you stood with him...or maybe you were uncertain of your feelings for him. Now you have dreamt about him in a blue swimsuit, so you could be more sure about your feelings for him. Blue is the colour of the sky, the ocean...a very gentle colour a serene and relaxing colour. Orange is the colour of autumn....a depressing time for some. Orange is the colour of change. It is the colour of the sky before a storm. Orange can be an angry colour too. You will work this out for yourself....just look at your feelings for your friend now in his blue swimsuit and how you felt about him when he was in the orange one....I guarantee its all about your feelings and how they have changed somehow. Or maybe when you dreamt about your friend in the orange swimsuit, you were the one who was going through massive changes in your life. Maybe its not about your friend...maybe its about you. Maybe you are more together now and thats why you dreamt about him in a blue swimsuit. Work it out, you will find the answer, but you need to look into yourself...find out what was going on in your life when dreaming about orange....and now how your life is now.

Colors do have meaning in dreams...but, what do the colors mean to you, how do they make you feel, that would give you a better indication of what they ment in your dreams...

i would think that at one time you really liked your friend, but now i guess that your friend isn't as great to you anymore.
