society always changes its social interaction.
that is called social change.
change is common in evolution; like so in society also.
Indian society changed often from vedic days to present globalisation. in the interest of sociology; read social change in India by many sociologists.
however the positive changes and negative changes relate to so many factors like media; influence of life style and economical growth.
hence the Indian society expands globally now a days.

Yes,I am confident Indian society will definitely improve, for that to happen two things should come into force, one is education, each and every child whether it is of any religion or any sex should be compulsorily given the primary education, second family planning should be strictly implemented for all religions, even though the present set of politicians are trying to divide the people on basis of cast and religion, I feel with better education and better standard of living, this will change. Finally it will be better if instead of blindly aping the western countries cultures like sex and entertainment, we should learn from them about their hard work, honesty and perseverance.

Indian society is far more adaptable than number of conservative societies in the world. If we try and remove corruption from government organisations, control the unchecked growth in human population, try and reduce poverty to minimum level,if we have excellent medical facility at most affordable rate for all sections of the society, Sufficient fresh water& drinking water And proper housing for all on demand I feel the Indian society will set an example for all other societies in the world. t To achieve these things not only the members of the society have to strive But the political parties forming governments have greater responsibility and roll to play.

hi
ankita our society is actually improving. the middle class which is the most dominant in this country has finall become aware. we are fighting for justice not only for the high profile cases like jessica lal and priyadarshani matoo but also cases like nithari. our biggest boon is the media. although they overdo it sometimes, yet they are the ones who are helping us get our petitions across to the President or even having our voices heard.
i am not saying that our society has completely improved but nevertheless there is a change and it will continue. infact it is each one of us who can contribute 2 rid our society of all the antisocial elements. trust me we are improving and i am proud 2 belong nd b a part of the indian society.

For starters I do agree that your term of Indain society is too vague. Are you referring to Native American Indians in the U.S.A.? Are you referring to the society of Asian Indians from the country of India living in the U.S.A.? Or are you referring to the society of Indians living in India? I assume that you are referring to Native American Indians. This has been quite a misunderstanding in much of history. There are reservations that have schools, churches, post offices and a sort of self-government within the confines of those reservations. However there are other reservations that are not so productive. The problem is that the U.S. has granted the "Indians" certain areas where the actual government does not impose its own judicial constructions upon them. In some ways this has helped certain tribes develop and prosper greatly. However with least restrictions from the government in many aspects other areas have fallen prey toward poverty. In other words, the U.S. does not have direct governmental control over most of the regulations in reservation communities, therefore the U.S. can neither help nor hinder in most aspects. The only way the U.S. government has even remotely tried to help was by giving the Indians a little corner in the back of the room that was theirs to begin with! Needless to say, The American government has been making subtle changes toward how Native Americans could choose to live in the Reservation or in the city, toward how Native Americans would be paid equally minimum wage with the rest of society if they so chose to work in the city. And some programs have been set forth to donating to reservations. Is the work being done enough to make full ammends for overtaking their land space and building upon sacred ground? Not hardly. I suppose many people remain biggotted toward people for various reasons. When we all join hands and sing koom-boya, and share equally in the bounties the world has to offer? I have no idea. But I do know that the government has made subtle reperations by allowing land space, and trying to harmonize their culture with ours. Many cities allot their conversation clubs to the Native Americans so that they can perform their traditional Pow-Wows within the city limits. Some Pow-Wows are performed on their reservations as well too, in which often times the general public is allowed to attend either, and can sometimes participate. There are certain dances that are considered too sacred or too historical in nature for the average non-indian to participate in.

NO!

I'am an internet journalist from india and this is what i'am working on perhaps this will give some idea about how lucky you are not to be living in this godforsaken country called INDIA.

Hello,
Please don't interpret this mail as some sort of hate mail or any other such degrading thought.
This is my thirst for knowledge and awareness towards what is
happening in the present context in the Indian society.
Marrige is the most
sacred and greatest institution which lends respectability to the relationship between a man and a woman and in our society specifically between two faimilies.
But the laws like Section 498 A of the Anti Dowry Act and the recent Domestic Violence Act are they really protecting women as a whole or have they become an evil instruement of money extortion, bullying in the hands of a few?

Why did the supreme court of India have to publicly state :
"Section 498 A is a legal sanction for social terrorism"?????
Does that mean justice and the very objective behind making these laws
has been made a mockery of????

5 girls died in Delhi yesterday, a man committed suicide in W.Bengal,Old parents, pregnant women and children are languishing in jails FOR WHAT???

Where is the law hiding for these poor doomed souls????

Official goverment figures state 90% of dowry cases are on false basis brought up for reasons not at all meant for the usage of this law.

Politicians and Feminists and others if allowed to promulgate laws like these without proper mechanisms to check abuse and ensuring justice and riddled with loopholes and vague interpretations will destroy the one thing we as Indians take pride in - our culture, faimly values and faith in marrige.

This is a cry of anguish as a person who has suffered personally to all responsible citizens, parents, women and men of India that unless we become aware of this we are heading for total self destruction and disaster. And because this affects all of us who are not power and money hungry, who beleive in social justice.

I wish you the best of luck in your quest for a life partner may god bless you with all the happiness. But please dont ever be a victim or an abuser of these laws which have made a mockery of social justice.

I leave you with a few thoughts as a farewell.

An old parent with eyes full of tears shown on a recent TV program-"No boy should marry a girl now as he stands to lose everything he cherishes and holds sacred."

"No girl should marry if the only prospect is to be bought like cattle and to be disposed off cruelly when no longer able to give any milk."

I've often felt that Indians may still be the way they where back then if left alone to rome the plains. But they will never gain any thing spiritually better than they had. If liven like the rest of the world is better they will have to adapted.

Who are you talking about babycakes?
Are you talking about Native Americans in the gooooood ol' U.S. of A. ??????
Honey child, if the powers that be don't want your voice heard, they make you less and less visible till you disappear completely.

Are you asking about Asian Indian people?
They are coming along.
They own little mom and pop stores like earlier immigrants. They get jobs in the computer industry.

The American Indian Tribal Cultures are pretty oppressed and misunderstood and unique.
I worry about them alot and support them where ever I can.
