There are really only three. All of the ethnic groups in Nigeria are extensions of these three. Igbo-- in the Baifra are Christians, Yoruba -- in the east are both Christians and Muslims, The third Hausa sometimes refered to as Fulani is in the North it is Muslim. All others are an extension of these three groups. Yoruba currently control the government. The oil is primarily in Igbo land -- unfortunately the igbo is the smallest group of the three.

Dave, i dont really know about that in nigeria. in the olden days in ghana, when a king dies, a child is beheaded and the head is buried with the body of the king. they normally say the beheaded child will be the servant of the king in the other world. again, in the olden days, when there is an outbreak of a disease or there is no good food harvest in a year, the spiritual leader consults the gods. after consultations, a sacrifice is made. its somes made with an animal or a human being. this kind of tradition is now dying out due to western culture and other stuffs. but it happened in the olden days. Also, people kill their relatives to gain wealth. this is done spiritually. the relative can be a man, woman or a child. it depends on want the spiritualist tell you to do. they sometimes kidnap children and behead them for spiritual purpose to gain wealth. this type still happens here but not very popular in the urban areas. am very sure that people kill people in nigeria spiritually to gain wealth. i will be happy if a nigerian give an insight of what happens in their country.
